What it is
Chompi is a virtual pet that eats what you eat. You snap a photo of your meal, AI figures out what’s on the plate, and Chompi reacts - happy, proud, or a little judgy. The idea is to flip nutrition tracking on its head: you don’t log meals for a spreadsheet, you log them because Chompi is hungry.
Features
- Camera-first feeding - point at your plate, AI does the meal analysis
- A pet with moods - Chompi reacts to what you feed it and how consistently
- Streaks, XP and levels - playful progress instead of guilt-driven charts
- Wardrobe - dress up Chompi with items you unlock along the way
- Meal journal - your history is there when you want it, never in your face
The fun part
The hard rule of the project is that the mascot always matters more than the statistics. Every screen starts from “how would a virtual pet game do this?” rather than “what would a fitness app show here?” - which makes even boring things like a history list an interesting design problem.
